Things We Love Communities all over the world are working on solutions to our Stuff, from REUSE to REPAIR to REDESIGN. Vancouver, Canada is the latest location for not only a terrific tool library, but also a startup called Repair Matters. Meanwhile, the city of Oakland, an early tool library adopter, honored one of its own, Repair Revolution, with an Indie Award. Did you know you can recycle mattresses in Connecticut and California? We should take this program global! Speaking of things you can recycle, have you heard of PaintCare? An innovative paint stewardship in many U.S. states is funded by purchase fees allows for reuse, recycling and safe disposal of paint. Another great step on the way to zero waste! Hold that banana peel! Austin might get residential compost. Cool development in a world-class city. But not as cool as Hernani, Spain...they took it to a whole new LEVEL! Long story short?
