We're asking businesses, beginning with Sprouts, to help hold Nestlé accountable for its illegal bottling in our National Forest. On Saturday, July 16th, people around the country will gather at Sprouts stores to educate customers and store managers and to ask that the "sustainable" grocery chain drop unsustainable Nestlé's Arrowhead Springs bottled water.
Sprouts is a major grocery chain with 212 stores around the country. The more stores we can reach out to the better! Click this link to find a store near you.
Volunteering to lead an event near you is simple:
- Choose a date and time. We're calling for actions on July 16th, but if that date doesn't work for you, we still welcome you to organize an event on another day the following week.
- Invite your friends and neighbors! Unsure who to invite? Surfriders and the Sierra Club are two environmental organizations with many local chapters. We will also be promoting your event to our Story of Stuff community members.
- Print out our materials. We'll provide you with signs, flyers and petitions, as well as a guide to talking to Sprouts customers and store managers.
- Take photos of your event, and send them to The Story of Stuff Project so we can show solidarity online as well as in the streets.
- Celebrate!
If there isn't a Sprouts store in your town, we still welcome you to organize an event at a local grocery store, asking them not to carry Arrowhead Springs or other Nestlé products.
The more stores that see our presence, the bigger the impact we can make. Sign up today to host an event, and we'll be in touch with more resources and information! Want to check if an event is already registered near you? Here is the link!
