The Story of Plastic is here!

Our groundbreaking feature-length documentary The Story of Plastic will premiere October 6th at the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival. This is your movie in many ways -- you helped fund it, spread the word and make it happen!

Now, we want to bring the heroes featured in the film to California for the World Premiere, and we need your help.

The Story of Plastic is a film about Big Plastic's plot to trash the planet for profit – and the movement of heroes rising up to stop it. That means that this story wouldn’t be what it is without the brave group of changemakers working on the front lines of this struggle. We're asking for your help to bring them to the World Premiere so that they can continue to share their stories with the world.

If you can chip in even $25, we will be able to invite:

Tiza Mafira, a Harvard-educated Indonesian lawyer who quit a corporate job to launch the social media-savvy Plastic Bag Diet campaign in her home country, leading to the national regulation of plastic bags in Indonesia.

Froilan Grate of the Philippines, whose organization is pioneering the creation of Zero Waste Cities, a model community-based waste management system that could revolutionize how his country deals with plastic waste.

And Yvette Arellano of TEJAS, a grassroots group leading the fight against the petrochemical industry’s plans to expand plastics refining along the Houston ship channel.

We want to honor the work of these environmental grassroots leaders and others by making them the guests of honor at the premiere – and, helping them access a global audience, inspiring others to take action. To do that, we need to raise $10,000 by the end of next week.
