Tell Amazon: We Don't Want Your Junk Mail!
This month, Amazon mailed its first ever print catalog. The 68-page mailing features a selection of kids' toys, and was distributed to millions of Amazon users – whether they wanted it or not.
Catalogs like this one consume thousands of tons of wood and water to produce, distribute, and recycle – all to sell us more stuff we just don't need.
Amazon is already responsible for hundreds of tons of cardboard waste from their boxes – this new stream of paper waste only adds insult to injury. As one of the largest and most valuable companies in the world, owned by richest man on the planet, Amazon should be finding solutions to reduce its paper waste, not adding to the problem.
We're calling on Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos to cancel the catalog and put a stop to all future unsolicited direct mail to consumers. Add your name now!
P.S. You can individually opt out of direct mail from Amazon by logging in to your Amazon account then clicking "Your Account" > "Communication preferences" (under "Email alerts, messages, and ads") > "Marketing Information by Post" > "Do not send me marketing information by mail."
