Tell Governor Snyder:

I demand accountability for Nestlé's water bottling operations in Michigan. The state should be working to preserve its natural water resources and safely deliver this water, at an affordable price, to its people.

    Stop Nestlé's Privatization Plan

Water privatization is threatening human lives, our water systems, and the environment.

In Michigan, the people of Flint and Detroit have been fighting for access to safe, clean, public tap water for the last 4 years. These communities are still forced to rely on bottled water as mismanaged public water systems have been allowed to fail, driving up costs and compromising human health. Meanwhile, the multinational corporation Nestlé bottles Michigan's water just a few hours away virtually for free. The disconnect could not be more clear.

Currently, Nestlé is working to take even more of Michigan's water while thousands in Flint are still waiting for new pipes so that they can drink their tap water again. By signing this petition, you are telling Governor Snyder to stand up for and prioritize the people of Michigan over corporations like Nestlé.

Specifically, you are urging the Governor and his appointee Heidi Grether, Director of Michigan's Department of Environmental Quality, to reject Nestlé’s current permit application to increase groundwater pumping from 250 to 400 gallons per minute from its well outside of Evart, MI.

The state should be working to preserve its natural water resources and safely deliver this water, at an affordable price, to the people who need it most in Flint and Detroit.
